This was always likely to be more difficult than intended given the fact The Lions had landed only a couple of days previously.
They kicked off their 2017 tour with a narrow victory over the Provincial Barbarians at Toll Stadium. Anthony Watson had the honour of scoring the first try of the tour and with Farrell, Greig Laidlaw and Jonathan Sexton all adding points with the boot, The Lions emerged victorious.
