When does the ballot launch?
On 12 March 2020 the announcement was made that there was going to be a ticket ballot for the 2021 Tour to South Africa.
When can I sign up?
Pre-registering means you’ll be the first to hear when the ballot opens. You can do this at www.lionsrugby.com.
When will I know if I've been successful?
All successful applicants will be notified as soon as the Ballot closes and have the chance to pay for their tickets at that point. Applicants who do not take up the opportunity will see their tickets returned, and another fan will be given the opportunity to purchase. We will not ask for card details when you apply, only when we confirm that you have been successful.
I’ve got a Priority Access Pass, what do I need to do?
Nothing! We will be running a ballot promise which means that if you are successful in the ballot you will not be out of pocket. We urge you to continue booking the tour that you want and should you be successful in the ballot we can refund the face value of the ticket, or, if you wish, cancel your package and receive a full refund.
Of course tickets are included as part of your package with us and you'll have the option to upgrade your tickets from Category C through to A.
What’s a ballot promise?
Our promise to you is that you will not be out of pocket. Should you win in the ballot and have already paid your deposit on a trip of a lifetime with us, we will offer you a refund on the face value of the tickets that you have purchased, or the option to cancel your package in full. Either way, you’ll not be out of pocket.
How many tickets will I get?
Lucky ballot winners will be able to buy two tickets for the Test match selected. Applicants can apply for any or all of the three Tests.
How many tickets are in the ballot?
There is a limit to the number of tickets to a Test match, limited by the size of the stadium. There are a limited number of tickets in the ballot as we also have to ensure that South African fans can access the stadium. We expect demand for tickets to outstrip supply.
What if I buy a package for four places and then go on to win two tickets?
If you do receive two tickets in the ballot and your other party members don’t, we are the only company that will be able to guarantee that your entire party will be sat together in the stadium.
Surely I should just go in the ballot?
Don’t forget, booking with us is the only way you can get access to our range of great events like Lions Den, Eve of Test, the exclusive Priority Access Pass Holder Event with Warren Gatland and so much more. We are ABTA and ATOL bonded should anything go wrong with your trip and have the best range of hotels and flights in South Africa available for the 2021 Tour.
Our advice is simple: Enter the ballot if you want to, but browse and book one of our packages before anyone else when your booking window opens - many of our packages have limited availability. You are still guaranteed the widest choice of packages you want with the hotel accommodation and flight services included.
