Eve of Test Lions Theatre

The countdown to kick off officially starts here: Welcome to our Lions Theatre special event on the Eve of the Test matches.

The build up has been four years in the making. It is a career defining moment on the field and a life affirming moment off it, surrounded by fellow Lions fans, star guests and complimentary food and drink.

Hear how The Lions will meet the challenge of South Africa head on from men who have done it and experienced it. Delve into Lions folklore and legend with great stories from the past and mix and mingle with new friends, all united by one thing: being on the rugby Tour of a lifetime.

Destinations you'll visit

This Tour takes in four of the most fabulous locations South Africa has to offer. Start your tour in Johannesburg where you’ll stay in the largest city in South Africa.

Next it’s onto Nelspruit and a game drive in the Kruger National Park with the chance to discover the 'Big Five', hopefully seeing a lion in its natural habitat. From Nelspruit you'll move on to Cape Town, the city with the wow-factor. Table Mountain, Robben Island and the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. You’ll not be short of things to do in Cape Town!

Next stop is Durban, a coastal city in eastern South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province, that is known for its African, Indian and colonial influences. Finally it's back to Jo’burg to round off the Tour of a lifetime.

The hotels you'll stay in

Your Tour will begin in Johannesburg with four nights at the City Lodge Fourways before heading to the Premier Hotel The Winkler in Nelspruit, close to Kruger for your chance to spot the ‘Big Five’ during your game drive at Kruger National Park.

It’s then onto the City Lodge Hotel GrandWest in Cape Town ahead of the second Test match before the next leg of your journey to Protea Hotel Durban uMhlanga. Before making the trip back to Johannesburg and your final stay at Holiday Inn Sandton - Rivonia Road.

Game Drive

An epic adventure in every sense, a game drive with the chance to see the ‘Big Five’ in the South African bush is a highlight of any holiday to the Rainbow Nation.

Whether it’s coming across a pack of lions at feeding time, elephants bathing at a waterhole, stalking a leopard or simply soaking up the dawn or sunset, a game drive is a wonderful experience not to be missed.

A game drive in Kruger National Park is guaranteed to tick something wonderful off your bucket list on tour GM. If there is one thing that is a must-do in South Africa, a game drive is it. A big experience in every sense.
