Lions Den

The greatest pre-match Lions party anywhere – welcome to The Lions Den!

These events are where it’s at on Tour and nothing comes close to matching them. It’s all about creating the biggest and best Lions rugby party ever just hours before kick-off, and entry will be included as part of your package.

The great thing about these events is that everyone is in it together – it’s what a Lions Tour is all about. For three hours, you will enjoy food, drink and a variety of the very best entertainment featuring Lions greats, on stage performances, music and much more. Be there to believe it.

Eve of Test Lions Theatre

The countdown to kick off officially starts here: Welcome to our Lions Theatre special event on the Eve of the Test matches.

The build up has been four years in the making. It is a career defining moment on the field and a life affirming moment off it, surrounded by fellow Lions fans, star guests and complimentary food and drink.

Hear how The Lions will meet the challenge of South Africa head on from men who have done it and experienced it. Delve into Lions folklore and legend with great stories from the past and mix and mingle with new friends, all united by one thing: being on the rugby Tour of a lifetime.

Cape Town

It is no exaggeration to say that, when it comes to first impressions, Cape Town can compete with any city on the planet. Rio de Janeiro? Absolutely. San Francisco? Indeed. Sydney? That too. With the Atlantic sparkling on two sides, and Table Mountain performing a grand rearguard action on the third, here is a metropolis which catches the eye as soon as you arrive.

Johannesburg

The South African National Museum of Military History, Johannesburg Art Gallery and the Apartheid Museum are three of the most amazing cultural visits in South Africa.

Outside the museums, you can indulge your shopping urges in the malls of Rosebank and Sandton, while there are excellent restaurants in Parkhurst and Parkview - and there is a lively bar scene on Seventh Street in Melville.

Kruger National Park

It is difficult, when you first drive through one of it's nine gates, to have an immediate appreciation of just how large Kruger National Park is. This vast expanse of grassland and savannah is all but a country within a country.

For many visitors the 'Big Five', the quintet of key beast will crop up on so many travel bucket lists. Kruger has them all - some 2,000 lions, more than 500 black rhinoceros, around 17,000 elephants, close to 40,000 cape buffalo and somewhere near 1,000 leopards.

The Winelands

If the name 'Stellenbosh' sounds familiar, then, well, it should. The wines which are produced as a result of its fertile soil and Mediterranean-esque climate have long made the town (along with its neighbours in the 'Cape Winelands', Paarl and Franschhoek) a staple on British supermarket shelves.

A glass of South African Cabernet Sauvignon will slip down all the better in its birthplace - amid vineyards that spread out in all directions, and with expert vintners on hand to guide you through the process!

Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff, Johannesburg

A peaceful oasis to juxtapose the busy metropolis that is Johannesburg, Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff is an ideal base for your Platinum Lions tour.

The hotel sits high up on the Witwaterstrand, overlooking the dense tree canopy of the prestigious northern suburbs. Each of the 117 spacious guest rooms offer the finest décor inspired by modern Africa and a private balcony with a panoramic view.

The Westcliff also boasts a Spa with an infinity pool and a glass elevator to take you to dinner and drinks at View, a lively social hub for the city’s elite.

Surrounded by the breath-taking views of the Stellenbosch valley, you will be able to enjoy a wine tasting experience in the wonderful tasting room, not only drinking in the views but also some of the finest wines in the world.

Game Drive

An epic adventure in every sense, a game drive with the chance to see the ‘Big Five’ in the South African bush is a highlight of any holiday to the Rainbow Nation.

Whether it’s coming across a pack of lions at feeding time, elephants bathing at a waterhole, stalking a leopard or simply soaking up the dawn or sunset, a game drive is a wonderful experience not to be missed.

Game Drives in Kruger National Park are included in this package, with two a day at dawn and dusk so that you have plenty of time to try and spot the 'Big Five' as well as many other wonderful sights. This really will be a Tour of a lifetime. A big experience in every sense.
