South Africa to Open its Borders
Tuesday 29 September 2020As we continue to plan and work towards an exciting 2021 with the Lions Tour playing in South Africa, there has been some really encouraging travel news from South Africa last week which maintains the positive spirit towards the British & Irish Lions Tour.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that international borders will open for business, leisure and travel from 1 October 2020.
It means supporters who have purchased their ticket-inclusive travel packages can be reassured the Tour is progressing as planned and it’s also great news for fans who have not yet secured their places.
“We will be allowing travel into and out of South Africa for business, leisure and other travel with effect from 1 October 2020. This is subject to various containment and mitigation measures,” Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa.
Travellers will only be able to use one of the land border posts that have remained operational during the lockdown or one of the three main airports; King Shaka, OR Tambo or Cape Town International Airport.
