HSBC Lions Legends

The unique HSBC Lions Legends series of dinners and lunches, in support of the Lions Charitable Trust, offered a once in a lifetime invitation to meet with legendary players and coaches to fully understand what it is to be a Lion. These were the only events officially endorsed by the British & Irish Lions and saw more than 2,500 guests attend, alongside more than 100 former Lions.

At these exceptional events, guests experienced the pride and the passion that each tour creates, hearing stories from and meeting with some of the most famous players ever involved in these historic tours.

By engaging with the stars of the previous tours, the events offered a unique insight into what being a Lion really means to those involved and why it is valued as the true pinnacle of any player or coach’s career.

At each HSBC Lions Legends event, those attending heard first hand tales of their extraordinary achievements, capturing the emotion and honour of those who have pulled on the famous red shirt.

The theme of the events was centred on the lively debate over the selection of the greatest ever HSBC Lions Legends XV, in partnership with The Telegraph.

There were also many opportunities to bid for exclusive Lions Tour items, including places at the exclusive farewell dinner with the 2009 British & Irish Lions squad.
